  • 1 dry pandi chili

  • 1/2 cup tomato pulp

To Be Mixed Into Masala:

  • 1/4 cup fresh curd (dahi)
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
  • 2 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds (jeera) powder
  • 1 tsp coriander (dhania) powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala

For The Garnish:

  • 2 tbsp chopped coriander (dhania)

  • Heat 2 tbsp oil in a pressure cooker and add the jackfruit cubes.

  • Heat the remaining two  tbsp  of oil in the pressure cooker. Add cinnamon, cloves, black peppercorn, bay leaf, pandi chili, and cumin seeds. Sauté for a few seconds.
  • Add ginger, garlic, and onions. Sauté over medium flame for 5 minutes.
  • Add the tomato pulp and prepared masala paste. Mix well and cook over medium flame for three mins.
  • Add the sautéed jackfruit, salt, and 1½ cups of water. Mix well and pressure cook for two whistles.
  • Allow the steam to escape before opening the lid.
  • Serve Kathal ki Sabzi hot, garnished with coriander.
