Ingredients (240 ml cup used)
- 1 cup rice flour (store bought will do)
- 1 cup water
- Salt as needed
- 1 tsp moong dal / pesara pappu
- ¼ tsp, cumin (optional)
- Curry leaves few chopped finely
- ¼ tsp. red chili powder
- 1 tsp. sesame seeds (optional)
- Fat Pinch of hing
- Oil for deep frying
How to make the recipe
1. Clean dal, cumin and sesame seeds before using.
2. Bring 1 cup water to a rapid boil with salt and dal.

3. Add the flour and other ingredients except oil.
4. Mix well.
5. Cover it and allow to rest for about 15 minutes. Grease hands and knead to a smooth dough.
6. Pinch off small portions of the dough and rolled them as shown in the picture and then join the edges to make a ring. Cover with a damp cloth to prevent them from drying.
Remember to make them thin and even otherwise they may burst or even not get cooked well and remain soft and soggy.

7. Heat the oil for deep frying, fry till golden on a medium heat. Do not fry on very low flame, they turn rock hard. Do not fry them on a high flame, they get browned faster and don’t get cooked inside.
8. Drain chegodilu on to a tissue and cool completely. Store them in an airtight container.
