Whenever someone mentions curry powder you get the idea of a hot and spicy thing that
makes you run for water.
But the curry powder I am going to use for the healthy recipes here are different. It is
not at all hot, just a little bit of spice to add taste to food. All the other ingredients are nutritious and very important for a balanced
diet.
You can add this curry powder to 'dal' and vegetable curry such as potato curry or 'aloo
gobi'.

Constipation and Curry Recipe
There are thousands of people searching online trying to find a cure for constipation.
Some have chronic constipation. Many take tablets or enima but do not find constipation relief. Can you believe that "rasam" a curry recipe can
be an effective constipation cure? This constipation remedy is easy to cook, healthy to eat and delicious to taste. What is more important is
that this constipation cure can be used for babies and old people.
Please remember that rasam is a daily food eaten in Indian homes. It is not necessary to
have constipation to relish this delicious soup.
How to Prepare Rasam, Curry Recipe, to Cure Constipation
Cook a cup of 'dal' - white lentil - in the pressure cooker, adding two cups of water.
You can also cook it in micro oven. Add one more cup of water and boil the 'dal' over medium heat. Add tamarind paste or tamarind juice to dal
while it is boiling. If you do not have tamarind you can add tomatoes. Add a tea spoon of curry powder. This curry powder is free with instant
dosa mix. But you can order it separately also. Add salt to taste. Add enough water to get a thin solution of the dal. Take it in a glass. Add a
tea spoon of clarified butter ( or regular butter if you do not have clarified butter called ghee).
Make the person who has constipation drink the warm rasam soup, little by little. Within
a few hours you will see that constipation is cured. You can have this soup as many times as you like. It is not necessary to add clarified
butter or regular butter, if you do not have constipation.
Other things that help with constipation are bananas, banana milk shakes, grape juice
and tamarind chutney. Castor Oil is used for severe constipation.
For pediatric or baby constipation you can warm a betel leaf over a candle, smear it
with castor oil and apply it on the baby's stomach - over the naval. Please plaace the leaf on your own hand and check the heat before placing it
on the baby. It should be as warm as the smooth skin of the baby can bear.
You can make the baby drink a spoonful of very thin rasam soup. Remember it should be
thin and non spicy for the baby. Please taste it yourself before giving it to the baby.
